Nine of Staves.
Allow for calm.
“There has been so much going on, my precious one, that you have fallen into an expectation that life will be hard. You see it in the world around you, in your personal circumstances, in many parts of your life. And the truth is, while yes things have been very difficult and felt hard, there is a break in the waves that is bringing you an experience of calm. It’s important that you recognise when the waves of calm are here, for if you place your focus on the swell that is building out in the distance you will miss the opportunity for rest. Who knows what can happen between now and then. The swell that builds off in the distance may lose it’s momentum, and it’s appearance in your life will be less powerful than you would have imagined.” In plain speak, stop looking for the problems and allow some peace into your life. You’ve been so busy fending off the obstacles that have been presented to you in your life, that it’s hard to see that these new oncoming struggles are actually coming to you at a close miss. There may be chaos going on around you, but when you really think about it, none of it is yours. If you take a moment to centre yourself and allow in a big, nourishing breath, you’ll realise that things are actually pretty good for you right now. So take a minute to let that sink in. If you make the effort to place your focus on the current good that is in your personal world right this very minute, you place less energy on the currents of chaos in the outside world. This has a flow on effect. With this centred calm you are able to think more clearly, feel more cohesively, and welcome a greater sense of good fortune into your life. You know you’re capable of anything, but the good news is that for this month you get to take a little break. Who knows what the next few months will bring, but right now that’s none of your business. Your business is to stay in the present and send your loving attention and focus towards the things you want to create in your life. Let those falling branches land right beside you, but not on you, and give thanks for the fortunate reprieve in your life. Or better still, grab one of those branches as it falls and fashion it into a walking stick, a sword of whatever tool that can help you move forward with more ease and grace.
