How often do you thank your body for all the beautiful things it does for you?
For it’s adaptation, it’s resilience and it’s skill. You might not view your body as skilful, but think about it – each morning you wake up and your body has kept you alive overnight. You have been literally unconscious and yet somehow you’ve managed to survive. Not only that, but while you’ve been sleeping, your body has been detoxing you, rebuilding your cells and mending any illness or injury that might be ailing your system. Were you an active participant in any of that? Of course you weren’t. You were fast asleep. That’s just one example of the wonderful things your body does for you. Day in and day out your body is carrying you, breathing for you, giving you the ability to experience this weird and wonderful ride called Life. So I ask again, how often do you thank it for that? Are you someone who tends to look at the outline of your shape and pick apart the bits you don’t like? Do you resent the things your body is currently incapable of doing while ignoring all of the things that it can do? Is it tricky for you to eat nourishing and healing foods instead of things that just feel tasty at the time? It’s ok if you are. But the invitation is here if you want to, to start doing things a little differently this month. What if you woke up and first thing in the morning, before you opened your eyes, you thanked your body for all the hard work it’s done for you overnight? Or if you took the time to massage your feet at the end of a busy day? This month you are being encouraged to look at your body with love, and celebrate it for all the incredible things that it does for you. In what other ways could you acknowledge and celebrate your body this month? Perhaps you could make loving food choices, go for a massage or a nice walk in a place of nature. When you bathe each day, take the time to send love to your body as you wash. Drink your glasses of water with the intention that it will hydrate and support your body. The most simple practices can be acts of love for your body if you choose for them to be. Find fun and enjoyment in the ways that you can show gratitude and love to your body this month. You might be surprised at how it changes things for you… With love xx Card deck: Divine Beloved Oracle by Tosha Silver
